The Founder-O Sensei Morihei Ueshiba
1883: was born in TANABE, province of Kii (Wakayama Prefecture) on 14 December.
1901: (17 years), he moved to Tokyo in September and open a stationery shop. Studia "Tenshin Shin yo-ryu Jujutsu" with master Tokusaburo Iwama in Tokyo. Brief study of the sword school Shinkage-ryu
1903: (19 years) married Itogawa Hatsu to Tanabe. At the end of December, enlisted in the army: 61° Infantry Regiment in Wakayama.
1904: (20 years) outbreak of war between Russia and Japan.
1905: (21 years) departure of his regiment to the front in Manchuria.
1906: (22 years) takes leave from the army and returns to Tanabe.
1908: (24 years) received from Master Masanosuke Tsuboi (or by Masakatsu Nakai) certificate of Yagyu-ryu Jujitsu ".
1910: (26 years) moves in "Hokkaido" to evaluate a land development project sponsored by the Government. Back to Tanabe.
1911: (27 years) it is possible to his approach to the study of "Judo" with Kiyoichi Takagi Sensei to Tanabe. The first daughter, Matsuko.
1912: (28 years) commands a group of colonists from the province of Kii decide to settle on in Hokkaido, Aza-Shirataki, village of Kamiwakibetsu, in Mombetsu
1915: (31 years) meets "Sokaku Takeda" of "Daito-ryu Jujutsu" and in March took part in its first 10 days seminar.
1916: (32 years) studied Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu intensely.
1917: (33 years old) was born in July the first son, Takemori.
1918: (34 years) is member of the Municipal Council in the

Saito Sensei 9th dan, was born on 31 March 1928,
was renowned as a superior exponent and teacher of Aikido who dedicated his life to passing on the Aikido taught to him by the founder, and in particular, the study of its traditional weapon technique.
Saito Sensei was unique amongst Aikido teachers to have spent 23 years in direct association with O’Sensei which allowed him to gain a thorough understanding of the interrelationship between taijutsu (body-art), ken (sword) and jo (staff) practice.
Because of the excellence of his teaching, his expansive knowledge of Aikido techniques and his unique position as the only student to have spent such a long period training with O’Sensei, particularly during the time when O’Sensei was completing the formation of Aikido, people from around the world travelled to the Iwama Dojo to learn directly from Saito Sensei. He reciprocated, travelling regularly to many countries to give seminars.
Saito Sensei possessed an encyclopaediac knowledge of Aikido forms and published many technical books of Aikido techniques. On his many trips abroad he generously allowed his techniques to be videotaped for further study, which still today provides a unique resource to the many students around the world.
The practice at Iwama Dojo came to be known by many students as “Iwama Styleâ€. But Saito Sensei always insisted that he was only teaching the Aikido forms which he had learnt from O’Sensei. His view was proved to be correct with the discovery and publication of O’Sensei’s 1938 manual, “Budoâ€.
A kind and gracious teacher, Saito Sensei passed away on 13 May 2002 aged 74. Today his many students are carrying on his legacy by continuing the practice of O’Sensei’s Aikido. All senior instructors of the Takemusu Aiki Association Inc in Australia have spent time studying in Iwama and are long term students of Saito Sensei.

Inizia lo studio dell’AIKIDO, sotto la guida del Maestro Motokage Kawamukai, nell’anno 1965. Nello stesso anno diventa allievo del Maestro Hiroshi Tada. Acquisisce il grado di SHO DAN nell’Agosto del 1968, diventando così una delle prime quattro cinture nere di Aikido in Italia.
Da Tada Sensei ottiene, poi:
Il grado di NI DAN nel 1970;
il grado di SAN DAN nel 1974;
il grado di YON DAN nel 1980.
Nel 1985, comincia a seguire gli insegnamenti di Morihiro Saito Sensei, il quale, nel 2000, gli conferisce il grado di
GO DAN AIKIKAI.
Sempre nel 1985 diviene allievo del Maestro Paolo Nicola Corallini, fedelissimo discepolo del Maestro Saito, nonché fondatore e Presidente della Takemusu Aikido Association Italy (T.A.A.I.).
Di tale Associazione è stato Vicepresidente fino al Dicembre 2009.
Nel 2005, lo stesso Maestro Corallini gli conferisce il grado di ROKU DAN di Takemusu Aikido.
E’ stato insignito della Stella di Bronzo al Merito Sportivo del Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano (C.O.N.I.) e della Medaglia d’Onore al Merito Sportivo della F.I.J.L.K.A.M.
Componente della Commissione Nazionale Aikido della F.I.J.L.K.A.M. affiliata al Comitato Olimpico Nazionale Italiano (C.O.N.I.).
Nel marzo 2006, il Presidente della F.I.J.L.K.A.M. gli ha conferito il grado di 7° DAN, “quale riconoscimento della pluridecennale e meritoria opera” svolta in favore dell’Aikido italiano e
“in considerazione delle tante e particolari benemerenze acquisite attraverso il sempre costante e qualificato impegno dimostrato per lo sviluppo tecnico e la diffusione dell’Aikido”.
Dal mese di Giugno del 2006, gli è stata affidata la Direzione Tecnica nazionale del Settore Aikido della F.I.J.L.K.A.M.
Nel Dicembre del 2006 fonda, assieme ai suoi piu' fedeli allievi, la Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica "Takemusu Aikido Mantova" e ne diviene Presidente e Dojo-Cho.
Nel mese di Febbraio del 2007, la Federazione Italiana Judo, Lotta, Karate e Arti Marziali (F.I.J.L.K.A.M.) gli conferisce l'incarico di Presidente della Commissione Nazionale per il settore Aikido.
Nell'Ottobre 2010 viene accolto all'unanimita' fra i membri della Takemusu Aikido Association, di cui e' Presidente il Maestro Bill Witt, AIKIKAI 7th DAN Shihan. Viene inoltre invitato
ufficialmente a partecipare, in qualita' di insegnante, al seminar internazionale di Birmingham (GB) dell'Ottobre 2011.
Muore nella sua abitazione di Mantova il 15 Febbraio 2011, dopo breve malattia, all'eta' di 79 anni.
Nel 2012 vengono conferiti alla sua memoria la Stella d'Argento al Merito Sportivo del C.O.N.I. e l'Impresa del Sole da parte dell'Amministrazione Comunale di Mantova.
